Shubh Aarambh helps families plan an event together. This page explains what we collect, why, and what you can do about it. The app is for people in India aged 18 and over.

What we collect

• Your account: your name, email address, and a scrambled (hashed) version of your password. If you sign in with Google, we get your name and email from Google. If you choose to add your mobile number, we show it only to an event’s organiser when you ask to join their event.
• What you and your family put into an event: the event name and date, guests (names, group size, RSVP and, if you add one, a phone number), expenses, bookings with vendors, who paid and who shares them, paybacks, tasks, the dates, times and places of each function, and the words on your invitation card.
• Shagun noted against a guest: the amount and any note you write. It is money, so only the organiser and the members they choose can see it.
• Travel details for out-of-town family: arrival and departure times, train or flight numbers, who is picking them up, and where they are staying. Visible to the members of that event.
• Guests’ phone numbers: only the contacts you choose to add. The app never reads or uploads your whole address book. A guest’s number is visible to the members of that event and no one else.
• A notification address for your phone: if you allow notifications, Google Firebase gives the app an ID for your phone so we can tell you when someone asks to join or a task is given to you. It is cleared when you sign out and deleted with your account.
• Crash reports: when the app crashes, it sends us the error and your app and phone version, with emails and long numbers removed. You can turn this off in Settings.
• Purchases: if you buy an Event Pass, Google Play or the App Store handles the payment. We receive a receipt to confirm it, never your card or UPI details.

Who can see an event

Only its members. Someone with the event’s link or code can only ask to join; the organiser decides who gets in. Members see the guests, tasks, dates and venues. The budget, expenses, bookings, paybacks and shagun are shown only to the organiser and the members the organiser chooses. The organiser can remove members and change the code at any time.

What we don’t do

• We don’t sell or rent your data, and we don’t show ads.
• We don’t message your guests. Invitations and invites go out only when you share them yourself, from your own phone.
• We don’t use your location.

Where it is stored

On secure servers run by our hosting providers (Vercel and Railway). Data travels encrypted. Our providers process it only to run the service.

How long we keep it

• Your account stays until you delete it.
• Something deleted inside an event can be brought back for 30 days, then it is gone.
• After you delete your account, we keep only a one-way code made from your email address, so the free trial can’t be claimed twice. It can’t be turned back into your address.

Your choices

• Change your name, mobile number and password in Settings.
• Delete your account from Settings at any time. See what gets deleted.
• Turn off crash reports in Settings.
